I am a wife to Jonathan and a mom to 5 children (ages 7, 6, 5 and 3 year old twins). I decided to start this blog as a way to unload the many thoughts that swirl around in my head each day. Since the birth of our twins, I have been amazed at how God has taken care of our very busy family. In the daily grind, God is there to support me and give me the tools I need to get through each day.
A bit more about me… I do a lot of reading about parenting and I hope to share some of the great articles, books and blogs that I find helpful and inspiring. I love to cook and bake. Although I don’t find much time to do either these days, I’m always interested in reading the latest recipe. If I get to taste something wonderful, that is a pretty big bonus as well. I love to sing. I can actually sing. I met my husband in our university choir. I hope some day I have more time for that too. I am a trained teacher. The 6 years I taught students has been amazing training for my role as mom. I’m the youngest child of 5 kids. I grew up as the baby of the family, but also as an only child as I was much younger than most of my siblings. I was very close to my parents growing up, especially my mom. She died 4 1/2 years ago from a heart attack. Who she was as a mom had a huge impact on shaping me into who I am today. But her absence has allowed me to stretch and grow in ways I didn’t know were possible.
I hope my writing can showcase the wonder of God’s goodness and faithfulness. My desire is that others, especially moms, will be encouraged by what is written on these pages. 2 Corinthians 12:9: “But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me.”
